Allina Health Launches Tech-Enabled EAP to Support Employee Well-being

Challenge:

Allina Health needed to provide discreet and effective mental health and well-being support to employees and their families. The key challenge was delivering these services outside of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to ensure privacy, while still integrating seamlessly into existing workflows.

Solution:

Allina Health launched a new Employee Assistance Program (EAP) in January 2024, in partnership with IDS, Enghouse Video, and ViTel Net. The program offers confidential mental health and wellness coaching services, integrated into operational workflows without using the EHR. It includes real-time collaboration tools, streamlined documentation, and cost-effective billing through payer-based EAP plans.
